alab.chat (“we”, “our”, “us”) is the AI chatbot business arm of alab.asia and is operated by ALAB I.T. SERVICES (Philippines). We provide AI chatbot and automation services that help businesses communicate with customers and users via channels like Facebook, WhatsApp, and websites.

Controller/Processor Roles

For business customer account data, we act as a data controller. For end-customer chat data processed on behalf of a business, we generally act as a service provider/processor and handle such data under the business customer’s instructions and applicable law.

International Data Transfers

We may process data in the Philippines and in other countries where we or our providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate protection for cross-border transfers in line with applicable data protection laws.

We implement organizational, technical, and physical safeguards (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit/at rest where appropriate). No online service can guarantee absolute security—please keep your credentials confidential and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

To exercise rights, contact us using the emails below. We will respond in a reasonable time consistent with applicable law.

Third-Party Services

Our service relies on third-party channels (e.g., Facebook). Their separate terms and privacy policies govern your use of those platforms. Availability and performance of our features may depend on those platforms and their APIs.

These Terms are a legal agreement between you and ALAB I.T. SERVICES (“Company”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using alab.chat, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Platform dependency: Service availability and features may be affected by third-party platform changes or outages. We are not responsible for such third-party issues.

Our Intellectual Property

We (and our licensors) own all rights in the alab.chat platform, software, and branding. These Terms grant you no ownership rights—only a limited right to use the service as permitted herein.

You will indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or any rights of a third party.

Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, goodwill, or data, or for third-party platform issues. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Butuan or Davao City, Philippines, for any dispute, except where applicable law provides you with mandatory protections or forums.

Data Deletion Instructions

alab.chat respects your right to control your data. Here’s how you can request deletion:

For Business Users (Account Owners)

  1. Email Request: Send an email from your registered address to sales@alab.chat or alab.asia.ai@gmail.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request.”
  2. We may request confirmation to protect your account. Requests are processed within 30 days of verification.

For End Customers (Chatted with a Bot)

  1. Contact the Business: Ask the business/page you chatted with to delete your data.
  2. Or Contact Us: Email sales@alab.chat or alab.asia.ai@gmail.com with:
    Your name and the platform (e.g., Facebook, WhatsApp, website)
    The business/page name
    Approximate date of the chat
    A statement that you want your data deleted
  3. We may verify your identity and will delete data within 30 days of verification (subject to legal retention obligations).

For Facebook Users

  1. Remove the “Alab.chat” app from your Facebook App Settings.
  2. You can also email us for assistance.
