alab.chat (“we”, “our”, “us”) is the AI chatbot business arm of alab.asia and is operated by ALAB I.T. SERVICES (Philippines).
We provide AI chatbot and automation services that help businesses communicate with customers and users via channels like Facebook, WhatsApp, and websites.
Controller/Processor Roles
For business customer account data, we act as a data controller. For end-customer chat data processed on behalf of a business, we generally act as a service provider/processor and handle such data under the business customer’s instructions and applicable law.
Information We Collect
- Business Account Data: Name, email, company details, platform page/app IDs, and account authentication details
- Customer Chat Data: Chat content, names or profile identifiers voluntarily shared during conversations, timestamps, and channel metadata.
- Technical Data: IP address, device/browser info, usage logs, diagnostics.
- Support/Contact: Information you provide when you contact us.
How We Use Information
- Service delivery: Operate chatbots, route messages, authenticate users, manage accounts, provide support.
- Improvement & safety: Analyze de-identified or aggregated usage and chat patterns to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.
- Communications: Send notices about features, service updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.
- Legal & compliance: Meet legal obligations, investigate abuse, and protect users and the service.
Sharing of Information
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
- We share information only:
- With trusted service providers bound to protect data.
- With integrated platforms (e.g., Facebook) as needed to deliver messages and features—subject to those platforms’ terms and privacy practices.
- To comply with law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer (with appropriate notice).
International Data Transfers
We may process data in the Philippines and in other countries where we or our providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate protection for cross-border transfers in line with applicable data protection laws.
Data Retention & Deletion
- We retain data only for as long as needed for the service or as required by law.
- You may request deletion at any time (see Data Deletion).
- Backups purge on a rolling schedule within a reasonable period.
Security
We implement organizational, technical, and physical safeguards (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit/at rest where appropriate). No online service can guarantee absolute security—please keep your credentials confidential and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
Your Privacy Rights
- Access & correction: Request a copy of your data or corrections to inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion or anonymization of your personal data.
- Portability (where applicable): Receive certain data in a portable format.
- Objection/Restriction (where applicable): Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent: Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise rights, contact us using the emails below. We will respond in a reasonable time consistent with applicable law.
Third-Party Services
Our service relies on third-party channels (e.g., Facebook). Their separate terms and privacy policies govern your use of those platforms. Availability and performance of our features may depend on those platforms and their APIs.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here and/or sent to your account email.

Acceptance
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and ALAB I.T. SERVICES (“Company”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using alab.chat, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Who Can Use alab.chat
- You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and, if acting for a company, have authority to bind that company.
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure; notify us of unauthorized use.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
Service Description
- We provide AI chatbots for business use via channels such as Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok, and websites.
- Chatbots respond automatically based on your configuration and/or AI models; you should supervise and review outputs.
- We integrate with third-party platforms via APIs; those platforms’ terms and policies apply.
Platform dependency: Service availability and features may be affected by third-party platform changes or outages. We are not responsible for such third-party issues.
Acceptable Use
- Do not use the service for illegal activity, spam, harassment, malware, or to collect highly sensitive personal data (e.g., payment card numbers, government IDs, health/biometric data, precise geolocation).
- Do not interfere with or abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or reverse engineer components.
- Comply with all laws and third-party platform policies.
- You are responsible for your chatbot’s content and for obtaining any notices/consents required from your end-users.
Data & Content
- You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and transmit your content solely to provide and improve the service.
- You represent you have all rights to your content and that it does not violate law or others’ rights. We may review or remove content that violates these Terms or law.
Our Intellectual Property
We (and our licensors) own all rights in the alab.chat platform, software, and branding. These Terms grant you no ownership rights—only a limited right to use the service as permitted herein.
Payment (if applicable)
- Fees and payment terms are disclosed at signup or prior to purchase. Prices may be updated with advance notice.
- Fees are non-refundable unless expressly stated otherwise. Taxes, if applicable, are your responsibility.
Termination
- You may close your account at any time (see Data Deletion).
- We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for violations of these Terms, law, or platform policies.
Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or any rights of a third party.
Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, goodwill, or data, or for third-party platform issues. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Butuan or Davao City, Philippines, for any dispute, except where applicable law provides you with mandatory protections or forums.
Miscellaneous
- Updates: We may revise these Terms; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms and referenced policies are the entire agreement and supersede prior understandings.
- Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
- No Waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control.
